Hi everyone,
We had a great meeting last Sunday! We discussed not only our August book but many others. As some of you may have heard there is a lot going on in the news about the public library system. Friends of the Library as well as your local library's are accepting tax deductible donations. Their goal is to have "every resident of Hawai‘i to donate at least $3 to help us meet this additional budget reduction of $3 million". I urge you to donate if you can. Another used book store has opened, this time in the Pearlridge mall. It is called BookOff and it is located downtown pearlridge near the entrance on the California Pizza Kitchen side. Although it's not very big they had a great selection of clean and popular books. In book club news we have decided to read Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. The book is a little popular and has over 56 holds at the library. Other options are amazon.com which is selling it for $14.97, Barnes and Noble from $24-16 depending on online or at the store and Borders from $24-17 depending on online or in store. Our September meeting will be Sunday the 27th at 10:30.
Hope to see you there!
