Our last meeting was a little small (Just two of us!) but we still had a fun time! We both liked The Descendants, although we wondered if people who hadn’t visited the island would like it as much. It’s too bad Kaui Hart Hemmings wasn’t able to join us, but if you’d like to hear a reading there is a video of her on youtube.

Our next book will be from a local author and will also take place on Oahu. It is Mililani Mauka by Chris Mckinney. We have tentatively set the date for our next meeting for June 28th. I will not be able to attend as I will be visiting friends and family on the mainland. I would like to know approximately how many people will attend our next meeting, I would hate for only one person to show up. If too many people have other plans we can always combine meetings and meet in July. I hope that doesn’t happen, but if it does I don’t think it will be a big problem. I hope you all enjoy the book!
